Here is where you can find inspirational and motivational posts to help you kick start your day, or give you a little bit of a boost if you are not quite feeling yourself today.
When we are told something, we react. We are reactive by design.
This doesn’t mean to say we can’t control our reactions.
When we receive news or information from someone (this will be leaning more towards negative news or information) we should try to take a moment to look at it from their perspective, or the situations perspective.
If we do this, we allow ourselves the opportunity to control our reactions for the better.
When you can truly tap out of caring about what others do in their day to day life, you will feel so liberated and in turn, much happier in your day to day life.
As humans we tend to closely watch others, both at work, and in our personal life, and what this can do - if you get too emotionally invested - is it can create a sense of emotional entropy which can complicate things in your head and even lead to disorder in our own lives because a lot of what we feel about others, good or bad, stays in our heads if you don’t deal with it.
That’s not to say that you stop seeing what others do but the key is to train yourself to not care, but genuinely not care, because it’s easy to say you don’t care, but to FEEL it, that takes a little bit of time and is a constant work in progress.
Just to clarify here, If I see someone about to potentially mess up their life or do something they shouldn’t, I will step in whether they are just a work colleague, or someone I love, and I won’t turn a blind eye. This post is more geared towards the petty stuff that occurs.
I look at everything as an opportunity to not only progress in life, but to learn a bit more about myself. One method I use to keep on track with this way of life is as soon as something comes to my attention about someone else whether it be at work, or at home, I look inward. I ask myself various questions as to whether I am like this, or have I ever done that, and most of the time, It reins me in for the obvious reasons.
One powerful quote that always comes to mind here: “Don’t throw stones if you in a glass house”.
Don’t expect people to just support your music moves. Some will naturally, of course, but some people need a little encouragement.
The only reason you don’t ask for people to share something or support in whichever way they can is because of your own ego. I know this because I struggle hugely with this… my ego and my pride.
There are ways of asking for support without having to beg for it and push it in peoples faces (there goes my ego again). You can just include it in your messaging and not just expect people to do it off their own back for then to be annoyed that they havent done what you subconsciously expected them to do.
Remember that nobody owes you anything in this life, but people will help out if you ask.
IMO, Discipline is the key to life. Without any form of it, you will struggle.
Cold showers (cold water therapy) has so many benefits but ultimately, it helps you build discipline.
Intermittent fasting has equally so many benefits but again, it helps build discipline.
Above are just two examples of things that have numerous benefits that can help completely change our lives, but at the very core of it all lies discipline, and without it, you won’t be able to commit and integrate any positive practices into your life.
Let’s flip it into a music thing. Starting an idea when you have a moment of inspiration is all well and good, but it takes discipline to sit there, fine tune things and finish a track. It takes time to build that discipline up and it also takes time to build the skill set to be able to do it to a level that you are happy with.
When a single lion hunts in daylight, it has a successful kill rate of around 20% and if it doesn’t kill, it doesn’t eat, which is the case for 80% of the time that it hunts.
That would be enough to make anyone quit, whether that be hunting for food, or anything else in life.
But does the lion quit? Of course it doesn’t, and not just because of the obvious reason that if it does quit, it will starve to death. The lion doesn’t quit because it doesn’t stop and think about the failed hunting attempt yesterday, nor does it care about hunting tomorrow. All it thinks about is hunting today.
Life is not about yesterday, that’s just a memory, and the future, riddled with anxieties, isn’t promised to any of us.
No matter what you do in life, you will always have haters.
They say that you are not progressing if you don’t have haters which I do agree with to some degree, but if you are a mass murderer and all you have is haters then I wouldn’t call that much positive progress in life… you get me?
IMO what acquiring haters means is that you are putting yourself out there and showing up. You are trying things that may “fail” or may work out, but either way you will always have someone who doesn’t approve no matter what you do, and on the flip, it may positively impact someone’s life and change it for the better which if you are like me, that’s what I prefer to focus on.
My point being, don’t worry about any of it. Just keep doing you, no matter what that is and as long as you are being your true self and you are happy doing it, then crack on and let others form their opinions whether good, or bad.
No aspiring artist should be broke these days and scrapping around trying to make ends meet.
Where does it say that to follow your dreams, you have to be broke and you have to struggle?
An artist in this day and age more than likely has multiple revenue streams to make ends meet and they don’t all have to be in music.
Sacrifices have to be made in various areas of life to get to where you want to be so even getting a part time job doing something completely outside of music is not a bad thing, and it won’t make you anymore less of an artist. If you are that bothered of what people think, don’t tell anyone and just use it for cash flow. You might have to work 16 hour days sometimes and you may have to also give up things that you like doing with your friends, but that’s what it takes.
It’s 2024, put your egos aside, and stop struggling.
This is a reminder for myself more than anyone.

Perspective is powerful if we can harness it.

Eveything in life points towards discipline.

Life is not about yesterday, that’s just a memory, and the future, riddled with anxieties, isn’t promised to any of us.
So here’s to living your life more like a lion 🦁
Have a great day!
Whatever you plan to do today, make sure you do it.
Don’t let procrastination get in the way, and don’t let what other people may think get in the way.
Tomorrow is not promised to any of us so be sure to do everything you need to do today because that’s all we can control.
Is it a bit early for this sh*t? Never…
Do what you have to do and have a great day doing it!

Stay strong, keep it moving and make today count.
